Daylight Saving Time and Your Child’s Sleep

Ahmed Says..

Sunday, at 2AM, daylight savings time occurs and we “Fall Back.”
Parents oftentimes ask me how they should adjust their child’s sleep schedule.
Here is my reply:

Because bedtime relies on parental timing of active/quiet time, bathing, and dinner (and these parental cues are adjusted to the new clock time), then we can disregard the change in clock time.

If 6:30 PM is the right bedtime for your child Saturday night, then 6:30 PM is the right bedtime for your child Sunday night too.

For the families in our practice, your Sleep Apps should automatically adjust.
